Established when I started Building things over 30 years ago...
One man’s delusion of some day being self employed.
What I do:
I design, build, repair, things. Just about anything within the size capacities of my tools.
Computer programming: C, Python, Django, HTML, CSS, visual basic, assembly, MySQL, etc.
Lathe, Mill, CNC, 3D printer operations.
Blacksmithing, forging, metal casting, heat treatment.
Electrical, Electronics
Research into electromagnetic field interactions.
I look forward to hearing from you.

What do I do for a living?
I have an Engineering degree from McMaster University
Technical endorsements in Electronics and Electricity
I hold Class 1 water treatment, wastewater treatment, water distribution and wastewater collection licenses.
I currently work as a water and wastewater treatment operator.
I designed and built the systems that I currently operate.
That includes the plumbing, electrical, hardware and software. I designed some custom hardware to enable software monitoring and control of the system.
Developed custom software for data management, collection and reporting as well as remote notification of the system status.
I also install network infrastructure. I do the excavation and installation of fiber optic cables through out the facility where I work.
Currently I am looking to add Rust programming to my list of programming languages.

A little about how it all started…
Located in the basement of my house I keep building tools. If I need a tool to help build the current tool I’ll stop and build that tool and then go back and finish the first tool. It might be time to start build things with my tools… but I still have more tools that want to build.
It all started long ago… I graduated University with a degree in Chemical Engineering, although my brain was full of academic knowledge, upon entering the real world, I quickly learned that I had no practical skills what so ever. I learned more practical skills my first year out of school than in my entire life before. I gradually learned some carpentry skills and started wood working. I even built some furniture. Successfully I might add. I then started learning how to fix mechanical devices. Then it happened… My dad gave me his old mini lathe/mill, a Unimat. It could make round things and flat things out of metal. It was fun. It was also tiny. I started getting ideas of things to make but the Unimat was too small for most of them. So I did what any socially reclusive nerd would do… I started building a bigger lathe. I also got my first and only long term client at that time, remote server maintenance, and with the extra funds I was able to purchase a larger lathe. The lathe I had started building, then magically morphed into a larger milling machine. Things just went crazy from there.
You never know what you can do until you try. When you fail on your first, second, third, fourth…. attempts look carefully at your previous tries, you might notice that your improving. You’ll look back at all those pieces of junk you’ve tried to build and see them for what they really are… building materials for your next project.
